Our  Story

God's vision for New Birth Worship Center (NBWC) took shape in September 1996, when a group of Christian believers united with a desire to deepen their relationship with God, praise, and worship. They yearned for more of His anointing, power through the Holy Spirit, blessings, wisdom, and understanding of His word. In His infinite wisdom, God brought this group together to establish a church devoted to worshiping Him in spirit and in truth. The name New Birth Worship Center was chosen through prayer, and on December 15, 1996, the church Constitution was adopted. NBWC held its inaugural service on January 5, 1997, at the West Yadkin Lodge in Yadkinville, NC, with Reverend Bobby France leading the first communion. By God’s grace, a music ministry was formed in the fall of 1997, which expanded to six choirs and the "Angels of Mercy" Dance Ministry established in 2009. Reverend Charles Fulton served as the first pastor from August 31, 1997, to August 14, 1999. The first land parcel was purchased and the for Phase I of the church took place on October 25, 1998. The first service in the new facility occurred on July 11, 1999. After a prayerful search for a new pastor, Reverend James L.E. Hunt was appointed on February 20, 2000. He would later go on to earn his Doctor of Ministry degree. Under his leadership, Phase II was completed, featuring a main sanctuary and various facilities. We were able to have a joyous Mortgage Burning Ceremony on May 18-19, 2013. NBWC has experienced significant spiritual and numerical growth as God continues to bless and add to the congregation, empowering members through His word.
